We at Two Sisters Crafting are always thinking of ways to take our Christmas wrapping to the next level. Most years Nancy and I insist on color coordinating our Christmas wrapping paper. Everyone else finds it annoying, but we think it’s fun and festive. This year, on top of the color coordinating, we decided to add these super cute Tootsie Pop Christmas Gift Tags. They are the perfect craft to do with your kids and who doesn’t like a Tootsie Pop?
Project Supplies that you will need:
- Tootsie Pops
- Christmas Craft Paper
- Mini Yarn Pom Poms
- Glue or Hot Glue Gun
- Scissors
Once you have gathered up your supplies, you will need a template for the mini Christmas Hat. You can find a bunch of samples on Google, here is a link to the search we used to find ours. It is basically a half circle, trimmed down to 50 degrees. Use the template to cut out a hat with your Christmas Craft paper. Fold the paper into a cone and glue the edges together. We also snipped off the very tip of the party hat so it would look more like a Santa Hat and less like a traditional party hat. Glue a yarn pom pom to the top of the hat and then glue the mini pom poms around the bottom edge of the hat. That’s all there is to it … these Mini Christmas Hats are very simple to make and kids will have fun making them with you!
We used the Hot Glue Gun to attach the Mini Christmas Hats to the Tootsie Pops but you could also use regular glue or a glue dot. Since you need to remove the wrapper to eat the lollipop you don’t have to worry about ruining the candy, the hat will simply come off with the wrapper!
Finally, we attached a small strip of matching Christmas Craft paper to the Tootsie Pop stick so we could add a fun Christmas message to the Gift Tag. This is such a simple project but so very fun! You could use these Tootsie Pop Christmas Gift Tags on your Christmas presents or add it as a little something extra to your child’s Holiday Teacher Gift. They would be fun as an extra stocking stuffer for the kids or even as a favor at a Christmas Party. And they would look adorable in a jar on your Christmas Party dessert table!
