1. Write Down Your Goals

These could range from upping your exercise routine to planning a trip, making more time for yourself or taking courses that will excel your career. Writing down your goals will make them tangible and give you something to work towards.
2. Make a Career Change
If you’re feeling stuck and unmotivated by your career, it may be time to look for a new job. The wrong job can feel like a complete waste of time and energy. If it’s not challenging and it’s not something you enjoy, it’s likely making you feel a lack of purpose. Take some time to figure out what interests you and what would make you happy. Then, start the search. Look for companies that share the same values as you and think about the ways you could be an asset to them. The right career change can be completely transformative!
3. Commit to Healthy Eating
Busy schedules are often synonymous with unhealthy eating habits. Perhaps you can’t find time to eat during the day, so you binge eat at night, or you’re always eating out because you don’t feel you have time to make your own meals. A healthy diet is essential for your overall wellness. It lifts your mood, boosts brain health, manages weight, reduces your risk of disease and enhances heart health. Fill your body with nutrient dense foods, including lean proteins, whole grains, healthy fats, and an array of fruits and veggies!
4. Sleep More
If you’re not getting adequate sleep, it’s likely affecting every part of your life. A lack of sleep can lead to lower productivity, mood changes, difficulty concentrating and a weakened immune system. Not to mention, it can put you at risk for diseases such as diabetes and heart disease. When you sleep, your body is able to repair and replenish itself. Aim for at least seven hours of sleep each night for ultimate health.
5. Stay Positive
Having a negative attitude and feelings of hopelessness can lead to chronic stress, which disrupts the body’s hormone balance, depletes the brain chemicals needed for happiness, and damages the immune system. The attitude you have towards life directly impacts it. It also shapes your decision-making and reaction to tough situations. Thinking positively can drastically change your life. It can lower your risk of distress and depression, boost your immunity and increase your health and life overall.
6. Start Meditating
Most people I know are in a constant state of stress or overthinking. It’s become a normal part of people’s lives and it isn’t a good thing. Stress and anxiety can affect your body, mood and behaviour. Meditation is one of the best ways to alleviate stress, increase self awareness and reduce negative emotions. It helps you achieve inner peace, which can be very transformative in many ways.
7. Get Uncomfortable
Putting yourself in uncomfortable situations can be nerve wracking, but it’s also one of the best ways to grow. When you become too comfortable with your day to day life, it can start to feel boring and lacklustre. Put yourself out of your comfort zone and try things you never would have before. Find ways to challenge yourself, whether that means sitting alone at a restaurant, going for a solo trip or attending a networking event by yourself. It’s a great way to find renewed self confidence and new opportunities.
8. Try Something New
Is there something you’ve always wanted to try but felt like you didn’t have the time or were too scared? Having hobbies is important for a well-rounded life. Hobbies help you relax and deal with stress, they afford you the opportunity to learn new skills and they open you up to a new community of people. From painting to learning an instrument, taking pilates or joining a book club, try something you’ve always had an interest in but haven’t taken the plunge.
9. Travel Somewhere You’ve Never Been Before
Travelling can be life changing. It opens you up to new cultures and lifestyles, allows you to have unique experiences and introduces you to new people. You learn and gain new information from new people and places, which can shape you into a better, more well-rounded person. You’ll learn to understand yourself better, as well as other people, pushing your personal and professional growth. Travelling can inspire you and give you clarity on what your passion truly is, which can change your whole life.
10. Surround Yourself With The Right People
The unfortunate reality is, some people are downright toxic and bring more negativity to your life than positivity. If your “friends” bring you down, make you feel bad about yourself and manipulate you, it’s time to say goodbye to them. The right people will lift you up, support and encourage you, and make you feel happy and wanted. Being surrounded by the right people will change your life for the better and make you feel confident that you can achieve all you want in life.
