Staying organized is one of the best ways to lead a happier, more successful life. While it may come as a surprise, organization doesn’t just help you with your productivity and goals, it also reduces stress, helps you sleep better, and can even improve your relationships. Knowing organization hacks for everything from your phone apps to meal prep to your closet will make you feel more at ease and ready to take on your day. Want to know our best tips for how to organize your life? Here are eight genius hacks to try!

How to Organize Your Life

1. Organize Your Phone Apps
With so many apps available for everything under the sun, our smart phone screens can quickly become overloaded. Apps are designed to make our lives more efficient, but just trying to locate them can be overwhelming when you’ve downloaded so many. All you need is 15 minutes to organize your home screen into a system that works for you. Organizing your apps into folders is a great way to sort them. Consider naming your folders using verbs like “listen”, “chat”, “exercise” and “work”. Labeling your folders this way can help you jump to the app you need incredibly fast exactly when you need it.

2. Arrange Your Beauty Products
Are you currently living out of your makeup bag? We urge you to organize your beauty products in your bathroom in a way that’s both aesthetic and functional. The first step is getting rid of any expired makeup. This prevents your bathroom from overflowing with products you don’t use anymore, plus expired products could be ruining your skin.

When you’re re-organizing your beauty products, pair them together based on type. Get some organizational trays and bins, and separate your products into categories like makeup, skin care, hair, body, and nails. Make sure your everyday products are together in an easy-to-reach area. This way when you’re getting ready, you don’t have to search through drawers and cabinets to find what you need.

3. Buy Matching Hangers
Using matching hangers in your closet is a small change that can make a big impact. Mismatched hangers can make your closet feel messy and disorganized. Tidy, matching hangers are a reminder that your clothes are worth treating well and will help you keep your closet neat. You’ll feel more pride in your closet, which will encourage you to keep it organized. As you’re switching your hangers over, you can simultaneously go through your clothes to see what items you want to keep and which ones you can give away or donate.

4. Use Glass Jars for Cotton-Made Products
Cotton-made products like Q-tips, cotton pads, and cotton balls typically come in not-so-nice packaging that’s less than ideal to display. Take them out of their packaging and place them in pretty glass containers with lids. Your bathroom will feel much less chaotic and will look great. Make the containers easily accessible by placing them on an open shelf or on a tray in the corner of your vanity.

5. Save Recipes as Soon as You Come Across Them
If you’re like us, you’re always looking for new recipes to try! As soon as you come across a new recipe you want to make, save it somewhere you can easily pull it up. You can screenshot a recipe page and save it in a photo album on your phone for easy access. Even if you can’t screenshot the whole recipe, you’ll have the site and recipe name so you can quickly look it up. If you come across recipes on Instagram or Tiktok, you can also save them for later. This way, when you’re racking your brain for what to make for dinner, you’ll have tons of options at your fingertips.

6. Plan Your Week Out on Sunday
Take some time on Sunday to plan out the week ahead. If you’re someone who likes putting pen to paper, invest in a paper planner to help you organize your week. You likely put all your appointments, meetings, workout plans, and dinner reservations in your calendar app on your phone. Take a look at what you have in store for the upcoming week and write it all down in your planner. This way you can start Monday morning having a good idea of what your days look like, which will make you feel calmer and more organized going into the week.

7. Meal Prep Components Instead of Entire Meals
Rather than meal prepping entire meals, prep several different components you can piece together such as veggies, proteins, grains, and sauces. This way you can use the same components to create a number of different meals in an easy and exciting way. You won’t have to worry about getting tired of eating the same thing over and over again, but you’ll have everything you need at your fingertips!

8. Organize Your Email Inbox
Is your inbox full of old emails and promos you’ll never use? It’s time to organize your digital life. Set aside some time to unsubscribe from email lists you don’t care about. We’ve all been guilty of deleting emails before even reading them because we know we’re not interested, or even worse, leaving them unread in our inbox.

Unsubscribing from these lists is freeing. You should also go through and delete any unimportant emails that you know you’re not going to need or read again. Keeping your inbox organized is a great way to digitally declutter and will make you feel more at ease.

If you want to feel more organized and in control of your life, we hope these hacks help you get there!
