  • ‘YOUR KIDS DON’T NEED A PERFECT MOM. THEY NEED A HAPPY ONE.’ —Unknown⠀ .⠀ As we head into the chaos of the holiday season, remember that your kids don’t care about a lot of the things you’re probably worrying about right now. All they want is YOU, and in order for you to show up for them and love on them and create memories with them, you need to ensure you’re taking care of yourself first. You can’t pour from an empty cup, so do something that makes your soul happy every single day, and don’t EVER apologize for it! 🥂
  • ‘IF YOU STILL LOOK GOOD AT THE END OF YOUR WORKOUT, YOU DIDN”T TRAIN HARD ENOUGH.’ —Unknown⠀ .⠀ 👆🏻YAAAAAAAAS!
  • ‘BE STRONGER THAN YOUR EXCUSES.’ —Unknown⠀ .⠀ I was on a thread about fitness goals in a Facebook group a couple of weeks ago, and a lot of people were asking for motivation tips.⠀ .⠀ ‘How do I motivate myself to get up earlier?’⠀ .⠀ ‘How do I push myself harder?’⠀ .⠀ ‘How do I convince myself to stick with it?’⠀ .⠀ There were tons of excuses (because let’s be honest - those are EXCUSES), and someone summed it up beautifully when she replied: ‘You just do it. You get out of bed. You push as hard as you can. You keep going even when you don’t feel like it. And when you’re tired, you do it anyway.’⠀ .⠀ Her words really lit a fire under my ass, and I figured someone might appreciate her motivation today. 💪🏻⠀ .⠀ Blah blah blah...GO WORKOUT ALREADY!
  • ‘FRIENDS ARE THE FAMILY YOU CHOOSE.’ —Jess C. Scott⠀ .⠀ My university BFF and I live in different cities, which makes it really difficult to get together as much as we’d like to, but we always pick up as though no time has passed whenever we see each other. We obviously support each other when life gets rough, but between marriage, kids, and careers, neither of us have a lot of free time to keep in touch regularly.⠀ .⠀ So we developed a thing.⠀ .⠀ I have no idea who started it, but for the last 12 months or so we have been texting funny memes to each other periodically throughout the week. We don’t type anything - we just send the memes - and since we’re both incredibly sarcastic, the memes we choose do NOT disappoint.⠀ .⠀ It’s such a small thing, but as you can see, it TOTALLY makes my day.⠀ .⠀ 👇 Do you have any weird things you do with your girlfriends to stay in touch when you’re in a busy season?
  • ‘WHAT IF TODAY WE ARE JUST GRATEFUL FOR EVERYTHING.’ —Charlie Brown⠀ .⠀ 👆THIS. ⠀ .⠀ Happy Thursday my beautiful friends!
  • ‘CHOOSE WHERE YOUR ENERGY GOES.’ —Unknown⠀ .⠀ I have no idea how it’s already DECEMBER, but I do know that I am counting the days until the holidays. 🥂 It’s been a really busy year in our household with lots to be grateful for and celebrate, but OMG do we ever need a break, lol!⠀ .⠀ I know this is a time of year when people start thinking through their goals for the following year, but I recently heard a great tip I wanted to share.⠀ .⠀ The holidays are filled with a lot of expectations from family and friends and can leave us feeling overwhelmed and exhausted at a time we’re meant to be relaxing and creating memories with the ones we love most. So, before you dig into your 2020 plans, set some goals for what you want to accomplish over the holidays. Let go of what other people think you should be doing, and create a list of the things that will bring you joy and help you end the year feeling rested, filled with gratitude, and ready to tackle 2020 like a boss.⠀ .⠀ Some may want to do ALL THE THINGS with family and friends, while others may decide the best thing for their mental health is to do the bare minimum this year. Some people desperately want to organize their houses [🙋‍♀️], others want to hang out in their PJs and watch movies...you get the idea.⠀ .⠀ I love the idea of writing out a plan and checking in periodically throughout the season to make sure we’re keeping those promises to ourselves. Remember that it’s YOUR holiday and you’re free to spend it whatever way you choose. 🙌
