This year’s wedding trends make us wish we were tying the knot in 2025. With a move away from tradition and formality, and a shift toward unconventional venues, weekend-long parties, and ultra-personalized details, 2025 weddings will be fun and immersive, with a big emphasis on the guest experience. Gone are the days of massive guest counts and stuffy receptions. Couples are opting to curate wedding days that are authentic to them, including their entertainment, food, decor, and attire. From bespoke experiences to ultra luxe details, interactive touches and more, here are the 2025 wedding trends we love.
2025 Wedding Trends: What’s In and What’s Out
8 Wedding Ins
1. Personalization
Personalized, bespoke details and experiences are a major wedding focus in 2025. Soon-to-be weds are stepping away from anything cookie-cutter to make their day feel like one of a kind. From custom bars and cocktails, to interactive seating chart displays, trivia cocktail napkins, and live music that reflects their individual backgrounds, couples are going all out on personalization.
2. Weekend-Long Events
More and more couples are opting to extend their wedding festivities over an entire weekend, with welcome parties, thoughtful brunches, and curated activities throughout the weekend. This gives your family and friends the opportunity to meet, hang out, and enjoy each other’s company over the course of a few days. Some activities you can consider include pool parties, pickleball tournaments, mini golf, and scavenger hunts.
3. Rococo Aesthetic
The Rococo aesthetic is lavish and elaborate, characterized by a dreamy colour palette, ornate details, and romantic textures. Couples are being drawn to grand, elegant venues, luxurious elements like champagne towers, and soft, ethereal textiles for their table decor. Pastel florals in shades of blush pink, soft blue and lilac, are also essential to the Rococo era.
4. A Focus on the Guest Experience
2025 couples are also putting a big focus on the guest experience. Along with throwing weekend-long events, they’re opting for meaningful touches like interactive cocktail hours, individualized guest sketches, an amazing live band, and wedding favours guests will actually love. They’re offering shuttle options to and from the venue and asking for song suggestions on their RSVPs. Guest comfort should always be top of mind. For example, if your ceremony is outside in the summer, sunscreen and parasols should be available.
5. Mixing New and Vintage
When it comes to weddings, there seems to be nostalgia for the past. While couples may not want an entirely vintage inspired wedding, we’re going to see a mixing of new and vintage elements. Vintage style wedding dresses are on the rise, but brides will also be opting for more modern styles paired with a pair of vintage shoes or accessories. Couples will also be adding subtle vintage touches such as heirlooms, vintage vases for flowers, and vintage-inspired stationery for invitations.
6. Serpentine Wedding Tables
Serpentine tables are one of the hottest wedding trends for 2025. To get the look, curved tables are placed together to create a repeated “S” shape. It’s an elegant and playful way to seat your guests if you’re having a sit down dinner. They’re ideal for intimate sized receptions and look especially stunning in natural settings such as a vineyard, lush meadow, or natural park like Joshua tree.
7. Mocktail Bars
In the past, if a wedding guest didn’t drink alcohol they were typically limited to water or soda. With a big shift toward overall wellness and more people limiting or avoiding alcohol altogether, couples are now offering dedicated mocktail bars. The bars come with their own menu of creative beverages sans alcohol, made with seasonal ingredients, homemade mixers, and fresh garnishes. This is a wonderful way to enhance the guest experience. Plus, they’re pretty.
8. Dress Trends
2025 wedding dress trends could be an entire post of its own, but we’ll share some of our favourites. Bridgeton-esque, corset style dresses continue to be popular, as do drop-waist dresses, reminiscent of the Renaissance era. Romantic silhouettes and details like lace, ruffles, and rosettes are also at the forefront. Colour is also making a comeback, with brides leaning into blush pinks, lavenders, and soft blues. And sheer was seen all over the 2025 runways, offering an elegant, whimsical, and bold choice for brides.
3 Wedding Outs
1. Extra-large Guest Counts
While post-pandemic weddings of 2023 and 2024 saw a large amount of guests, this year there’s a shift to more intimate gatherings. Cutting down your guest list is one of the best ways to reduce your wedding budget, allowing you to focus on your dream visual aesthetics and special moments throughout your wedding day. It also allows couples to afford to host pre- and post-wedding events to maximize the guest experience.
2. Tradition and Formality
Couples are moving far, far away from tradition. They’re getting ready together and skipping formal family photos. They’re opting out of cake cutting and bouquet tossing, and are having their wedding parties sit down during the ceremony. Many couples will be doing their speeches at the rehearsal dinner rather than the wedding night. And they’re opting for more unique dining experiences such as grazing tables, live chef tables, and food stations, rather than formal sit down dinners. Newly weds are focusing on what feels most authentic to them, rather than on what they “should” do.
3, Conventional Venues
We’re going to be seeing a drop in conventional wedding venues like ballrooms, hotels, and barns and a move towards more unique locations like European castles, ornate libraries, vineyards, and conservatories. Couples want a venue that adds to their wedding’s look and feel, they want it to wow their guests. They’re craving a space that has its own history and aesthetic so that they don’t need to rely on lots of decor to enhance it.
We hope you enjoyed this round up of what’s in and out for weddings in 2025. Will you be doing any of these trends?
