Yup.

It’s happening.

I’m FINALLY forcing my daughter to say goodbye to diapers.

And I’m really scared for my sanity.

So I’ve spent the last several weeks reading various potty training tips on the internet, and while most of the stuff I’ve read has been the same (wait until she’s ready, be consistent, keep the experience positive, etc.), this YouTube clip by Mama Natural offered a ton of other tricks I feel are not only going to make the process of potty training a little easier, but are also going to set my daughter up for long-term success.

I especially love the tips for using toys rather than food as motivators since my picky eater cannot be bribed with sweets, and while I swore up and down I would never allow my daughter to run around naked while potty training after this horrendous playdate, I am seriously contemplating letting her wear nothing but her birthday suit when we first start training as I can see how much easier it will be for both of us.

I also love the tip for getting automatic toilets not to flush when kids are using them (how did she come up with that??), and for those outings when public toilets aren’t an option (can you believe our local park doesn’t have bathrooms?!), I will be keeping our new My Carry Potty in the car. What a fabulous invention!

Anyway, take a look at the tutorial and PLEASE leave me a comment if you have any additional helpful potty training tips to share with me!

Wish me luck!
