As bloggers, are are constantly trying to figure out how to get more blog traffic to our websites. Why? Because from the moment we publish our first post, we’re conditioned to believe our success is completely dependent on the number of pageviews, unique visitors, blog comments, and social media followers we have, and while our total reach definitely has an impact on how much advertising revenue we earn on a monthly basis and how attractive we are to the brands we want to work with, I feel we put way too much emphasis on our blog stats.
Because one of the worst things you can do for your business is put all of your eggs in one basket, and if that basket is directly tied to something you have little to no control over, then you need to rethink your strategy.
Of course, this all sounds good in theory, but the reality is that we need to drive traffic to our blogs if we want them grow, and I think we can all agree that ad revenue is a FANTASTIC source of passive income that shouldn’t be ignored.
I just don’t think we need to OBSESS over our blog metrics.
We should be more concerned with building a name for ourselves and our brand so we become known as an expert in our niche and people want to sign-up for our email list and continue visiting our blog, rather than trying to reach a million readers just for the sake of pageviews.
I’d much rather have fewer monthly pageviews with more engaged readers and an email list that converts than 3 million pageviews with a high bounce rate.
We want QUALITY over QUANTITY.
Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, I’m going to share 10 proven strategies that will not only teach you how to get more blog traffic, but that will also show you how to get your blog noticed to drive more quality traffic and increase reader engagement.
