Do you drink a gallon of water a day?

I don’t.

Not even close.

But after getting into the shape of my life last spring, only to gain all of the weight back (and then some!) over the holidays, I am more determined than ever to make 2016 the year I stop making excuses and make health and fitness a priority.

So I’ve been speaking with the trainers at my gym, doing a ton of research online, and putting a holistic plan in place to ensure I succeed in my goals, and one of the things I hear and read about time and time again is the importance of drinking enough water each day.

I could talk your ear off about the link between adequate water intake and weight loss, but the bottom line is this: if you want to lose weight and keep it off, you need to ditch all of those liquid calories you consume on a daily basis and increase the number of H2O you’re consuming.

Stat.

But that doesn’t mean you can’t spice up your beverages.

Quite the contrary, actually.

There are so many fabulous fruit-infused water recipes out there to help keep your palette happy, and today I’m sharing a fabulous Skin-Firming Citrus Boost Water I recently stumbled upon.

This water is one of my favorites as I can make it before I go to bed and wake up to a delicious, full-flavored drink with abundant health and beauty benefits. Mangoes and citrus boost your metabolism, and they’re also known to help naturally smooth and tighten skin.

I first learned about this recipe after reading my friend Audrey Johns’ new book, Lose Weight by Eating, and I am absolutely hooked!

Skin-Firming Citrus Boost Water

Author:
Ingredients
  • 2 mangoes
  • 2 oranges, cut into slices
  • 1 lemon, cut into slices
  • 1 lime, cut into slices
  • 4 cups ice
Instructions
  1. Peel and cut the mangoes into large chunks, reserving the pits. Divide the mango chunks between two large pitchers. Squeeze the excess juice off the pits and drop them in as well. Add the citrus slices and top with the ice, which will hold down the fruit. Pour in 1 gallon water.
  2. Let the water infuse for at least 2 hours before serving or store overnight in your fridge. If you like your water at room temperature, let it infuse on the countertop, but be sure to add the ice to hold down the fruit, or use a fruit infusion pitcher, which will hold all the fruit down for you without the ice.

I pack this in my Infusion Pro Premium Fruit Infused Water Bottle each morning so I can drink it while I’m on the go, and I feel more hydrated and fabulous than ever!
