I don’t know about you, but I’m not a huge fan of fall. Sure, I enjoy watching the leaves change color, sipping on a pumpkin spice latte, and dressing in warm fluffy sweaters and beautiful knee-high boots, but the arrival of the cooler weather reminds me that cold and flu season is just around the corner, which in turn makes my anxiety go through the roof.

I’m not sure when my fear of germs started, but I find it has gotten so much worse now that I’m a mother, and while I would love to bathe my sweet bear in bleach a million times a day to avoid her getting sick, I try really hard to let her be a kid without hovering over her with antibacterial wipes in my hands.

Now, I probably wouldn’t be so uptight about her getting sick if she willingly took medicine when she didn’t feel well, but after it took THREE ADULTS to get a dose of meds down her throat last winter, I’m even more terrified of what this season has to offer.

If your kids kick up as big a fuss as my daughter does when it comes to taking medicine, or you're just not a fan of having your children ingest meds unless they absolutely have to, make sure to bookmark this collection of natural cold and flu remedies for kids. I'm especially excited about remedy number 6 - who knew playdoh could make sick kids feel better?!

The good news is that I’m a pretty resourceful person, and after poking around on Pinterest, I’ve found some great natural cold and flu remedies for kids that should help give her some relief when she’s feeling poorly. And since I know I’m not the only parent who struggles to get meds into her children (and who isn’t a fan of medicine to begin with), I thought I’d share my favorites with all of you.

But before I do that, I do want to remind you that I am NOT a doctor and urge you to consult your pediatrician or GP before using any of these remedies on your kids (or yourself!).

Good luck and here’s to a happy and healthy fall and winter!
